90 Year Old Grandma Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston With Dance (VIDEO)
February 21, 2012 10 CommentsWhitney Houston tributes continue to flood the Internet in the wake of the superstar’s tragic death Saturday, with fans creating music, artwork and videos in remembrance of the talented singer and actress.
But fans are starting to catch on to one tribute that’s sure to top them all — a home video of dancing machine Jeanne, a 90-year-old grandma who’s not letting her age stop her from busting a move.
In her lastest music video, Jeanne rocks out to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” a video she decided to make in honor of Houston.
“This video was her idea,” her grandson, caretaker and videographer Adam Forgie said in the video’s description. “She wanted to pay tribute to Whitney Houston.”
Jeanne’s moves are even more impressive after reading the short biography Forgie posted to Facebook.
According to the Facebook fan page “My 90-Year-Old Grandma,” Jeanne is legally blind, nearly deaf, and has a steel hip replacement.
Or, in her grandson’s words, “100% DANCER.”
Here’s the original music video below:
I must be honest. The dedication at the beginning of the video had me teary eyed. I heard the sadness she have for Whitney in her voice that came from her heart. And grandma’s makeup is flawless. Hairstyle is fierce, and outfit is working, and the moves were pumping!!
In a few words… I love this lady!
That’s just how I want to be at 90 🙂
2 awesome women
This story is amazing on so many levels.
(1) I love to see elderly people embracing life and enjoying themselves. Who said you had to sit in a corner somewhere and give up once you’ve reached a certain age? I am blessed to still have both of my grandmothers. They live in different countries, but both Grandma Geddys know how to have fun (maybe that’s where I get it from).
(2) This is a true Whitney tribute from the heart. Much more sincere than the fake tears and plastered -on cue- smiles at the Grammy awards.
Granny RULESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHE. IS. A. TOTAL. MUFFIN!!!!! So cute it chased my Mondays away.
priceless..this was from the heart
this video made my heart feel good..this is a pure video. She’s not trying to become famous/rich or anything from this video she just seems so genuine when she’s speaking about Whitney. We Will Always Love You Whitney! RIP!
much respect
